I have a strategic acumen for marketing and, particularly, communication. Framing people and moments with emotional resonance to establish relevance and inspire an intended action, is my strong point.
My Asian roots and European sensibilities broaden and sharpen my Human Intelligence, which you would agree is a natural advantage over AI. I’d love to tell you that it’s my years of experience working with brands that has honed this skill, but in fact, it’s the years of life experience wearing different hats simultaneously, often on two different continents, that gives me an unblinkered perspective – perspectives that are as wide as required and zoomed in as necessary.
With a gift for pivoting narratives aligned with the mood of the moment, my work has won applause from many global brands.
My words and images bring authenticity to the marketing process —marketing events, products, services, and people. Trust, reliability, creativity, cultural sensibility, and clarity are the whys my clients work with me.
With a gift for pivoting narratives aligned with the mood of the moment and rooted in human values, my work has won appreciation from many global brands. If you would like to know more about the work I have done (with the promise that you won’t let the past blinker the promise of a grander future), send me a short email to uma@unblinkered.com introducing yourself and I’m happy to share more.
Unblinkered is not just a brand or a communication agency but a way of seeing the world. It’s a way of perceiving the invisible dots that connect us as one people, sharing a planet and its resources.
Some more about me….
Born and raised in Chennai, South India, I live with my family in Switzerland – our third adopted home, after Singapore and Germany.
Worked in India, Singapore, and Germany for global and local brands.
I love to travel, write, and photograph. I also write poems, but I haven’t monetized that talent yet!
I have worked with health, lifestyle, food packaging, digital products, automotive, engineering, learning platforms, leadership training, e-commerce, and event brands.
Educational background: computer science and business administration.
I arrived in Europe 18 years ago with my family, as a young mother expecting the second child. I adapted to the German way of life—weather, language, people, and culture, with two young kids looking up to me for guidance. (Learning to successfully navigate the German Autobahn with a child kicking in the womb is undoubtedly one of my crucial life achievements! If you share this achievement, message me and we’ll arrange to meet over chai and exchange the details of that experience and many more)
My kids are now in University and I have the time and attention to work on projects and assignments I postponed the last years.
My career started in Bangalore in 1998 as a business development manager for India’s first internet-based product company. With the onset of motherhood, it transitioned to marketing and communication.
Many of my photos have been used as (fun)d raisers for social projects. Homeless animal adoption via the Blue Cross of Chennai, Literacy projects in India (The Library Project and the EdLiv Samanta Foundation), the International Association of Human Values (IAHV), and indeed, The Art of Living (where I learned the lifechanging SKY breath, meditation, and timeless wisdom that I apply everyday of my life)
I have an aptitude for analytics and creativity.
